MT Series MT Series transcoders are designed for bi-directional remote control applications. Eight status lines can be set up in any combination of inputs and outputs for the transfer of button or contact states. An automatic confirmation indicates that the transmission was successfully received. The large, twenty-four bit address size makes transmissions highly unique, minimizing the possibility of conflict between multiple devices. A Serial Interface Engine (SIE) allows configuration and editing of the device and control of the transcoder by an external microprocessor or PC. HS Series The HS Series is an ideal part for applications requiring the highest level of security. The series uses CipherLinx-encrypted remote control technology, which is based on a core algorithm developed by the United States National Security Agency (NSA). The parts also offer numerous innovative features, including up to 8 data lines, multiple baud rates, individual "button level" user permissions, an optional keypad PIN, encoder identity output, low power consumption, and easy "programming-free" setup. MS Series The MS Series allows the status of up to eight buttons or contacts to be securely transferred across a wireless link. The MS Series offers 2 fixed addresses which can be selected without DIP switches or a programmer. It also features latched or momentary outputs and the ability to define which data lines each encoder can access allowing for unique relationships among system components. The series is well suited to remote control applications requiring ease of use and versatility with a reasonable level of security. LS Series The LS Series offers a very quick and easy way to register button presses or contact closures. There is no need for addressing or programming. Just take a line high on the encoder and a line goes high on the decoder. The LS is ideal for applications requiring basic remote control, prototyping, and proof-of-concept. Holtek Encoders and Decoders Holtek Semiconductor produces a wide range of low-cost, low-power encoders and decoders suitable for many remote control applications. Distributed exclusively in North America by Linx Technologies, these chips are available with 2-8 data lines and 8-15 address lines in a wide variety of package sizes. Holtek encoders and decoders are an excellent choice for low-cost or basic applications that require a reasonable degree of security.
