Can I use the LR receiver to extend the range of my OEM transmitter?

Yes! The LR Series receiver is compatible with all OEM Handheld and Keyfob transmitters, as well Linx LC and KH Series transmitters. Thanks to the LR's outstanding sensitivity, it can dramatically and legally give a 5 to 10 times range increase. The Holtek-based OEM transmitters use an LR Series transmitter and a Holtek encoder. All that is needed at the receiver side is the corresponding Holtek decoder, the HT658/S (available from Linx). Since the KH Series transmitter is an LC Series transmitter and the encoder in the same package, this combination will also work to extend the range of a link using the KH transmitter. Likewise, the MS and HS based OEM products use the MS or HS Series encoder, so the LR Series receiver combined with the MS or HS Series decoder is all that is needed to complete the system.

The attached file shows a schematic diagram detailing how to connect the LR Series receiver to the HT658/S decoder. It also shows a schematic for the transmitter, which is implemented in our Holtek-based OEM Handheld and Keyfob transmitters. More details on the modules can be found in the manuals, which are available for download from our website.
